Term of service

Effective date

01.02.2025

Welcome to Tapp 👋 — we’re glad you’re here! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain how you can use our services (apps, websites, and everything connected to them). We’ve written them to be clear and approachable, while still giving both you and us the legal protection we need.

Last Updated: September 2025

By using Tapp, you’re agreeing to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Your Account

  • Some features require an account. Please keep your login safe — you’re responsible for activity under your account.

  • If you notice unauthorized use, email us at privacy@thetapp.io right away.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

Playing Fair (Acceptable Use)

We want Tapp to be fun and safe. You agree not to:

  • Break laws or regulations while using Tapp.

  • Upload harmful, offensive, or infringing content.

  • Hack, disrupt, or try to access systems you shouldn’t.

  • Use Tapp in a way that could harm others or the Service.

If you misuse the Service, we may suspend or terminate your account.

No Tolerance for Abuse

Tapp is designed to be a positive and safe space. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful language or behavior.

That means:

  • No hate speech, threats, or bullying.

  • No obscene, vulgar, or offensive content.

  • No harassment of other users, brands, or Tapp team members.

Violating this policy may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from Tapp, at our discretion.

Who Owns What

  • Tapp’s stuff: The platform, brand, tech, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

  • Your stuff: You own the content you create (like uploads, reviews, or comments). By submitting it, you give us a limited license to use it — but only so we can provide the Service (like showing it in your hub or sharing it with a brand partner).

Brand Partners

Tapp connects you with content, offers, or loyalty programs from brands. We host the experience, but each brand is responsible for its own products, services, and communications. Any issues with a brand’s offering should be taken up with them directly.

Disclaimers (The Legal Fine Print)

  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

  • We can’t guarantee it will always be bug-free, secure, or available without interruption.

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Tapp is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (like lost rewards or missed opportunities).

  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

Ending the Ride

  • You can stop using Tapp anytime.

  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue part of the Service.

Governing Law and Disputes

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, USA.

  • Disputes will be handled exclusively in the courts of Middlesex County, Massachusetts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Updates to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms occasionally. If the changes are significant, we’ll notify you (for example, by email or in-app notice).

  • If you keep using Tapp after changes are posted, it means you accept the new Terms.
